What is Arena Football?

Arena Football is a variation of Gridiron football that involves a much shorter field than the NFL and a slight variation in rules. The most popular league of arena football is the Arena Football League or AFL. The AFL consists of nine teams divided into 2 conferences and 4 divisions. The AFL started in 1987 and still operates to this day. Popular for its unique playing style the AFL is the third most successful gridiron football league after the NFL and the CFL. Last year they had over 1 million fans come to their stadiums to witness their favorite teams play. Although most AFL players earn about $30,000 per season, some earn enough to avoid having a second job during the off-season. Arena football is a high scoring game due to its' smaller field and fast paced gameplay. This blog will focus on Arena Football games and players.
